Rochester School for the Deaf Varsity Girls Basketball Pulls Off Gritty Comeback Win at YWCP
The Varsity Girls Basketball team battled through adversity and delivered a thrilling comeback victory on the road against Young Women College Prep, winning 67–64 in a hard-fought game.

RSD struggled early, falling behind 30–12 in the first quarter. Knowing YWCP only had five players, the coaching staff challenged the team to keep the pressure on and continue attacking. The response was immediate.
In the second quarter, RSD exploded for 20 points, cutting the deficit to just four at halftime (36–32) and completely shifting the momentum.

Despite one of YWCP’s players suffering an injury and continuing to play, RSD stayed aggressive in the second half and executed down the stretch to secure the win by three points.

Evangeline Fisher-Palmer led the way with a dominant all-around performance, scoring 34 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, dishing out 11 assists, and knocking down four clutch three-pointers.

Brooklyn Christensen added 17 points, while Ley Stuhlberg contributed 10 points and an impressive 16 rebounds.

The defining moments came late in the game. Fisher-Palmer drained a huge three-pointer to put RSD up by three. On the very next possession, YWCP attacked the basket, and Ley Stuhlberg fearlessly stepped in to take charge, despite having four fouls. The courageous play sealed the possession, ran out the clock, and secured the victory.

Down by 18 points in the first quarter, this team never quit. Their resilience, trust, and relentless effort turned a tough night into a statement win.
