The following questions may assist you as you begin to plan your stories. The following lists are not exclusive. You may come up with some great questions of your own, but these questions can be used to get you started.

Report #1: - December Report about the opening of the season:  Due December 21st.. 

• What is the sport/are the sports that you will be reporting on this year? 

• What are the goals for the team[s] this year? 

• What do they want to achieve based on last year's record or based on having new team members? 

• Who are the coaches? assistant coaches? team captains? team leaders? 

• What kind of season schedule does your team face? For example, are they playing mostly area schools and a few teams from schools for the deaf? 

• Are they playing many games against other schools for the deaf? 
   

• Photo Contest - Enter a team picture to include captions of all the players and coaches. You may comment on the team's goals for the year. (Team pictures should include each team - girls' & boys' teams.)

For those reporting about cheerleading: 

• What new routines is your team currently working on? 

• What are the strengths/weaknesses of this years team? 

Report #2 - Mid-Season Report: Due January 25th.

• What has the team's record been so far? 

• Were there any interesting games [stories, highlights, scores, etc.]? 

• Comments from players: 

• What are the strengths of this team? 

• What do you feel are your team's weaknesses? 

• Why are you excited about being a part of this year's team? 

• What has your coach/have your coaches been helping your team with this season? 

• Why do you think your team is succeeding? struggling? holding its own

• A week in the life of a team member: 
   

• Photo Contest - Submit at least one picture - an "Action Picture"  Include a caption of what's happening in the picture. (You may submit as many pictures as required to tell "your story".)

Report #3 - February Tournament and End of Season Report: Due March 9th

• What were your teams scores from this tournament? 

• What were the highlights of the tournament for your school? the heartbreaks? 

• Not including the games themselves, what were the best parts of the tournament? 

• What did your team think before the tournament? 

• What about afterwards? 

• Who were the All-Stars from your school? 

• How did they feel to be named on this list? 

• What would your team do differently if they could do it all over again? 

• What was the team's final record? 

• Were there any interesting games [stories, highlights, scores, etc.]? 
   

• Photo Contest - Submit at least one picture with any team or individual awards.  Include a caption of what's happening in the picture. (You may submit as many pictures as required to tell "your story".)

For those reporting about cheerleading: 

• What worked best for your team this year? 

• What is one thing that you would like to do differently for next year? 

• Does your squad attend any workshops or camps over the summer? 

• What were the strengths/weaknesses of this years team?

• What did you learn from watching the other teams? 

• What special things did you do to represent your team at the tournament? to encourage your team?
